Come over Queens! Queens Art Intervention 2017. Tomorrow, Sat, 12-7pm.

DWELLING WITH THOUSAND WINDOWS: Sep.23, Sat, 12-7pm. Simply come over to Murray Playground on 21st Street x 45th Ave, Long Island City, NY. ( Take 7train to Court Sq station. E/M/G lines won’t stop at this station this weekend) or come with used window envelopes if you have any.  We will be working on a green circle under the trees right inside from 21st Street entrance. Starting around noon, help me building dwelling, put rope between trees and hung large window drapes with balance. Walk in and out of the see-through window walls. See other side. Go to the other side. What dwelling means to you. Write/Draw about it. Leave your note for Queens Art Intervention exhibit at Queens Museum in December.

Niizeki Hiromi    2003  MokoMoko with camouflage  no Windows.   Internationally collected Used envelopes, Glue, Myler.   MokoMoko means, Cutie Chubby in Japanese.  Used specifically purposefully mass produced camouflage printed envelopes were hand cut with scissors by myself, and recreated into a non purposeful & functional large scale fine art installation.

I will run this hands on creative workshop. You will create your own unique, fun 3d pop up inserts using colorful card stock and tools. Open for all ages, child and adult!　既成の二つ折りのカードの中に挟む飛び出る仕掛けを作ります。　やってみると楽しいし、普通のカードが、特別になって人に送るのがもったいなくなるかも。色々な道具も試せますよ。小さなクラスなので、予約してくださいね。

By cutting the T-shirts with scissors and tying them together each participant will create own tote bag to take home.  Open to public and free to participate. All T-shirts were used/unused and donated for this project.

So, how do we turn t-shirts into Tote bag without sewing?  Cut and Tie, simple.

Make slits on the bottom. maybe 1 inch wide for each. Length could be vary as long as you can tie.

Tie 2 pieces together first, then tie different pair to make stronger. Slits could be much longer. If you turn T-shirts inside out and tie, the slits would stay inside the bag and invisible. Be creative and have fun.

Over 100 of unwanted new/used T-shirts were donated for my upcoming project for Queens Art Intervention 2016. 86 of them were donated in Japan during my visit and I carried all in my suit case and was very heavy. Thank you so much for your donation! 日本で８６枚の不要Tシャツの寄付をいただきました！　ありがとうございました！　重くてスーツケースで運ぶのが大変でした！不信に見えたのか、空港では家族で私だけが、荷物を細かく調べられました！
